Hakka Heritage Crops

About the exhibition

The Hakka group originated from the Central Plains region of China's Qin Dynasty thousands of years ago and is widely distributed, including not only the Lingnan provinces of China, but also Southeast Asian countries and Central America. Two hundred years ago, some of them migrated to Taiwan, starting the process of "localization" of Hakka culture in Taiwan. After two hundred years of variation, it has formed a unique culture in terms of human structure, natural environment, life connotation, and even self-identity. Some characteristics. The contribution of the Hakka people who settled in Taiwan to the development of Taiwan cannot be ignored.

TABA will use the exhibition theme of BAW 2025 to emphasize the heritage crops that are closely related to the Hakka national culture and life in Taiwan, allowing us to have a glimpse and restore the "localization" process, and at the same time, it also reminds modern people to protect heritage crops in order to avoid to extinction, which is as important as protecting history and culture.
